He finally exited the bank as a Manager after the 2005 banks consolidation exercise by the CBN during Prof Soludo administration. As a preliminary training and preparation for going into his private business proper, he attended a program called Owners Managers Program (OMP) at Lagos business school Lekki. Mrs Mohammed who is a trained Nurse and Midwife was overseeing the Dulux business before Mr Abubakar Mohammed joined her to move the business further. It was the best business of their conglomerate then. All other businesses where later closed down in order to face Dulux business squarely where their passion lies. Today, his team in House Affairs Nigeria limited is happy not only to celebrate, but to jubilate for a successful over two decades of a mutually beneficial partnership with CAP Plc and the Dulux brand.
